For inquiries about weddings, please call (212) 679–8166 x220 or e-mail email@example.com. We require a minimum of six (6) months to schedule a wedding. In order to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony in the Catholic Church, at least one of you must be a Catholic. Please remember that it is important to approach the church first before making your plans for a reception venue. We do not schedule weddings on Sundays.
Your wedding should be the culmination of much prayer and reflection. Your priest will guide you in this process. To assist you in this, it is required that both of you attend Pre-Cana.
According to canon law, “Parents are obliged to see that their infants are baptized within the first few weeks. As soon as possible after the birth, indeed even before it, they are to approach the parish priest to ask for the sacrament for their child, and to be themselves duly prepared for it” (CIC can. 867 §1).
Those wishing to have their child baptized should contact the Parish Office at (212) 679–8166 x210 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The choice of godparents (sponsors), who are to help the baptized to live a good Christian life and faithfully to fulfil the duties inherent in baptism, is an important one. One godparent, male or female, is sufficient; but there may be no more than two godparents, one of each sex. A godparent must be a Catholic of not less than sixteen years of age, who has been confirmed and who lives a life of faith that befits the role to be undertaken. A baptized person who belongs to a non-Catholic ecclesial community may be admitted in company with a Catholic sponsor as a Christian witness. Those who wish to be a godparent must present a letter of eligibility from the parish where they worship regularly.
Baptisms are scheduled on the second Sunday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Our Saviour and on the fourth Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
